Virtue Software Solutions LLC has an opening for the position of Monitoring & Operations Engineer (Ref# MOE331SM).
Work Location: Position may telecommute / work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
Job Duties: Install, configure, and support organization applications using AppDynamics on multiple environments including Linux, UNIX, and Windows and cross domain services/systems. Add/modify/delete monitors on various application performance monitoring (APM) tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Netcool, IBM Tivoli Monitoring, Moogsoft, ExtraHop, Catchpoint, SiteScope, xMatters, and Cloud Monitoring. Install, configure, and administer Splunk on Linux and Windows servers. Analyze the functionality and requirements of applications and suggest and implement the required tools to monitor various metrics. Troubleshoot production and lower environment issues on the enterprise monitoring tools implemented within the organization. Collaborate with engineering and vendor teams and implement patches and fixes for the monitoring tools. Provide 24×7 support for any issues faced by applications on infrastructure teams with the tools. Answer or assist application/infrastructure teams to better leverage the monitoring tools. Assist application teams in triaging production issues by providing log/metrics information from various monitoring tools. Automate reporting of recurring tasks and checks for performance tracking of the monitoring tools. Setup proactive checks to monitor the health of monitoring tools. Acknowledge the enhancement requests from end-users of the tools and work with engineering and vendor teams in implementing the changes. Join collaboration calls for high severity issues and provide inputs by gathering data related to the server/database/application from the supported tools.
Requirements: This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. Plus 3 months of experience in the job offered or related occupation including Software Engineer or related experience. 40hrs/week.
